ANNUAL ESTIMATED PRODUCTION

As a pilot project ahead of the major wind farm project in Markbygden, the company Markbygden Vind AB applied for and was granted permission for a wind farm of eight turbines at Stor-Blåliden, north of the village of Långträsk in the municipality of Piteå. Permission was granted in 2010, and the construction of roads, power lines, and two wind turbines followed. Technology is developing rapidlyand there are now much larger and more efficient turbines available. Consequently, the company Storblåliden Vind AB has applied for permission for turbines up to 250 metres tall. The Environmental Review Delegation of Norrbotten County granted permission in April 2019. The decision was appealed to the Swedish Land and Environmental Court, which rejected and overturned the appeals in October 2019. This decision has been appealed to the Swedish Land and Environmental Court, which is currently dealing with the case.
