On April 26th we had the annual meeting with the economic associations within Markbygden (Lillpite älvdals -, Kost Vind-, Markbygden 2008 and Rokådalen Economic Association).

The wind companies informed the associations abount the current situation for the projects within Markbygden, eg. state issues, ongoing and planned construction and operational information.

The economic associations reported on their activities and what they used the community benefit contribution from the wind power to; inter alia development of urban associations, snow mobile clubs, fishing associations, etc. The economic associations believe that an additional positive effect of the wind farm is that the villages have begun cooperating more with each other.

We would like to thank everyone for a good meeting and look forward to continued good cooperation!

Community benefit contribution is a contribution given by the wind farms, which will serve as a support for the development of the communities/villages closest to the wind farms. Contributions are made to established associations, they receive an annual amount, which is based on previous year's production. After that, anyone who has an idea can turn to their local association with an application for a grant to develop or improve something that concerns the community/village.
